Kind-of a unique question. My site is psbspeakers.com it ranks #1 for psb speakers but is not in the top 1000+ returns for the term speakers. It used to be in the top 5 for the term "speakers". My question is this: since my company name has one of my top keywords in it, (speakers) it is very hard not to "stuff the home page" with the term speakers. Could google look at my site and only rank it for "PSB Speakers" and not rank it at all for "speakers"? could they consider all occurrences of PSB Speakers as only "psb speakers" and give me no juice for "speakers" at all? And before anyone says "you need more links with that term" or "speakers is a hard term to rank for" remember that I once ranked well for that term and am now not returned at all for it. I have thousands of inbound links most of them with the term "speakers". The only pages that are ranking for non-branded keywords are internal pages like "tower speakers" the home page does not rank anywhere for a term besides branded KW "PSB Speakers" This seems to be a larger issue to me then needing more links, sight code change or the odd alt tag missing. - Please help
site / domain is 15 years old. Last major redesign was 1 year ago. the old (crappy) table site home page 3-4 years ago ranked really well for some reason. I can see a new site hurting secondary pages but not the home page?
check out a site like bcspeakers.com it ranks for "speakers" in the top 70 but my site beats it in every way concevable - Links - pr - site speed - content everything. can you guys tell me why it ranks for "speakers" but psbspeakers.com does not?
psbspeakers.com - shared hosting, bcspeakers.com - dedicated hosting - may be one reason. domain age is 15 years for psbspeakers.com and 13 years for bcspeakers.com..., checked your backlinks in backlinkwatch.com, i found - http://bomarpublishing.com/openx/ww...a31448cf5__oadest=http://www.psbspeakers.com/ - repeated 1000 times.., where as for bcspeakers.com - it has backlinks from various domains with anchor text B & C Speakers.., so may be this is one more reason to be rank for the keyword "Speakers"..
