One of our websites has about 150 categories on the frontpage and each is linking to its section. Not to mention that it is just a huge eye sore that runs all the way down the page and you have to scroll to look at the whole thing....but will this effect our rankings? Could this almost be consider keyword spam? Many of the categories has the same link text within it.
I might try to lump some of the categories together on home page and structure more like first level broad categories, second level subcategories, third level porduct. To me 150 categories on one page sounds like an alful lot. Isn't there some recommendation that you have no more than 100 links on any one page?
Apologies for the multiple posts. Just pressed once! This happened to me before when posting from FireFox, can some moderator edit this?
Yannis, I too have had double posts. You can delete your own post by clicking on edit, and the delete button. As I remember this function is active for 6 hours but don't hold me to the time period.
Yes, this is above the recommended limit. However, you can make GoogleBot think this as a special situation On the other hand, add flash menu, Or do it in creative way, like adding a link map or something like that.
