Too harsh? What do you think?

Long story short (read the full story in my tweets on twitter.com/melaniekraus) 5th 3rd bank doesn't clear cash deposits for 24 hours (among other things, but like I said, long story) which allowed them to cause me to go into overdraft (several times over.)

Anyway, I've never heard of a bank holding cash deposits for 24 hours.

I went back and forth with this guy and they wouldn't budge on it until I basically told them they are losing my business (which they are, we're going to a credit union on Friday.) Anyway, FINALLY he "waived" $37 of the fees.

    And I wrote:
Thank you for "waiving" $37 in money you guys stole from my account. I look forward to the moment when you "waive" the remaining money that you guys stole from my account, particularly the larger amount. I will consider continuing business with you guys. Until then, I look forward to your reply to the Better Business Bureau report I filed against 5th 3rd. I also look forward to a reply from the Consumerist.com as I've also filed a report with them. In the meantime, I look forward to working with you again and the 2300 people following me on Twitter also look forward to the outcome of this situation. Thank you, Melanie

Although all of the above is true, was it a little too harsh? Because, really, I'm so mad I've been considering picketing... even if they don't give me my money back, I'd love for them to at least look bad. Plus, I'm not the only one that hates them... seriously, Google 5th 3rd and look at all the other angry people.

    no, screw 'em.

any reputable bank will credit your account immediately when making a cash deposit.
of course when you get to a certain time of day, it gets credited the following day.

waiting 24 hours is bullshit. find another bank.

Well, I filed a complaint but they blew it off. I filed another one -- cold shoulder. So I wrote about it on Twitter and they returned one of the overdraft fees which was $37. The other two ($66 and $37) still have not been returned, but I intend on either getting it back or wasting their time until I've wasted so much of their money that it wasn't financially worth it for them to take those overdrafts.
