Here is an example where the audience at a GOP debate cheers for waterboarding http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/david/gop-debate-audience-cheers-waterboarding

Waterboarding is considered torture by every responsible party within the US and across the world, except for a small group of Conservatives from the Dick Chaney school of thinking....that invented a phrase...."enhanced interrogation".....to escape being called torturers.

What in the world is enhanced interrogation anyway? Interrogation...not a pleasant process. What is enhanced? Its torture by another name.

I like to go with John McCain on this issue. McCain stands above all others as both a public figure and a person who experienced torture. He experienced it. While he was getting tortured in Vietnam, Dick Cheney who subsequently invented the phrase "enhanced interrogation" was doing everything possible to escape being sent to Vietnam.

McCain served his country, experienced torture, can't raise his arms above his shoulders because of his long period of capture by the N. Vietnamese, knows torture first hand. Dick Cheney did everything he could think of and do to escape responsibility or the likelyhood of going to Vietnam....and then when he got to a position of power he set in motion an entire legal and executive process to systemically include torture in the US war in Iraq.

Some of the attendees at the GOP debate in question cheered torture. Others, Ron Paul supporters cheered that Waterboarding is considered torture.

At other GOP debates attendees have booed a soldier who is gay, and cheered for a sick person to die.

It appears that some of the attendees at GOP debates have all the personal qualities of the most repulsive terrorists around the world. Those terrorists would similarly cheer for their enemies to die miserable deaths.

My question is "what is the human difference between the torture cheering attendees at the GOP debates and the torture cheering Islamic terrorists"???

Frankly there are a lot of humans around the world that don't want to have their lives run by angry nutcases who cheer on torture.

I'd suggest all the torture cheerers around the world get into a big death ring and have a fight to the finish. Then the rest of us will have a far better life.

Seems Anonymous is backing Ron Paul this election. What % of USA supports Anonymous?

I found this short video 'interesting'.

The problem is that these guys will never fight for anything, they are just a bunch of scared cowards that can cheer other people death and misery. Forget about Chaney, look at all these loud mouths in this forum who were cheering for war and killing, not even one of them joined the military to defend their country while claiming it was under attack. They like to play and act as soldiers only in video games but they know in their heart that they are only scared little kid who will pee his pants as soon as there is a real danger.

    Great video Bushranger!

How many ads like this will it take to convince Americans that their view of the world is flawed, that people in other countries have the right to live as they want, that them damn foreigners who speak funny and have different political and religious views just may be ordinary people trying to survive whatever life throws at them.

Elect Ron Paul and make the world a better place.

Make the saying "it's a free world" relevant once again.

America has had its revenge for 911. Leave us in peace.

The 911 was the best thing ever happening to Bush, Chaney and other neo-cons, so it is kind of hard to give it up.

I believe they don't get their news / documentaries like we get it here boblord666. I think if they saw half the shit we have on SBS they would have ended it years ago, even if that meant taking out a few of their own politicians.

Maybe we benefit by having so few channels to choose from? :) Though that is changing here.

Um.... Aren't you forgetting that Nancy Pelosi and the leaders of the Democratic Party explicitly approved of the use of waterboarding - or, as Nancy called it, "enhanced interrogation"? I invite you to poorly mange an excuse?

Look, Earl, if you want to disapprove of waterboarding because you feel it really is torture, that's fine... but if you use it purely for reasons of politics, then you cowardly surrender any moral ground in the argument. Their pain is USEFUL to you, isn't it???

Using other people's pain for political reasons is simply evil and disgusting.

If you want to disapprove of waterboarding for the same reason I disapprove - because John McCain, who knows what torture is, disapproves, then that's fine.

Did they? Show us. Also please show us points in time when they started objecting to it. There is a minority of folks in the US that support it. Waterboarding is torture in any historical terms, specifically banned in the past.

Again, I ask, what is "enhanced interrogation". Its some kind of twisted phrase used by Cheney to implement torture, something specifically repugnant to myriads of people with deep experience with interrogation. There are many other reasons why people opposed it.

I keep deferring to John McCain. He experienced torture. Who is a better authority on the topic?

If you think I made a political statement you are off base. You wanted to know...who was cheering waterboarding. People in the forums gave you a response.

In my experience seeing the cheering and hearing the cheering is reality. Reality stands on its own. Its not politics.

LOL. I have served my country even if it was not in the war time and we were involved in the cold war instead of actual war, have you?

    This will get you started:
Pelosi Briefed on Waterboarding in 2002
First, Pelosi & company denied they knew U.S. officials used waterboarding and said if they knew, they would object.
When it was pointed out they WERE briefed on waterboarding, she denied attending the briefing.
Then, she said, sure, we were briefed on waterboarding, but we didn't know we were briefed.
Then, she said, yes, we were briefed on waterboarding, but it was just a briefing and we couldn't object.
Then, she claimed that she did object, but she has no record of objecting.

According to someone that was at the briefing, Pelosi's attitude was:
"In fairness, the environment was different then because we were closer to Sept. 11 and people were still in a panic," said one U.S. official present during the early briefings. "But there was no objecting, no hand-wringing. The attitude was, 'We don't care what you do to those guys as long as you get the information you need to protect the American people.'"

    According to CNN:
    According to the Washington Times:

When it was pointed out to Pelosi that she initially lied when she said she had no knowledge of waterboarding, and when asked why she didn't object, Pelosi decided to go on a month-long "fact-finding mission" to the Vatican, China, and a few other places far away from the media.

    Surely you remember all this???

I agree. But I think you are spouting an uninformed opinion. At what point does an interrogation become torture? I think that the legal definition is that it has to cause severe physical damage. What is your test?

What is "climate change"? "What are "undocumented workers"? These are twisted phrases used by Democrats to plunder the U.S. economy.

No one here was ever looking for revenge. What we are looking to do is insure that this type of thing never happens again.
To that end, peace will arrive when islamic terrorism and other regimes of hate and destruction are crushed.

My guess is, it will be a long time before the US stops its policy of being offensive in matters of foreign policy. Last time we took the passive approach we got caught with our britches down.

You really have to wonder about someone who takes such pride and enjoyment about the sexual abuse of children.
