and now for my perfectly worthless, there are 500 posts in this thread! post. There are 500 posts in this thread! As far as I can tell, it's the third most replied to thread on the board now. (more than 500 replies, with a post from anthony - since I figure ac has pretty much participated in all the biggies)
Like the links above anthony, better watch it hough, it will give you away as a Suddam Hussein Fan Club member Mia -a-a-a! You naughty: I thought we settled this long ago, but I guess you forgot. Sigh, okay, here I go again. The people are being killed anywhere, i care about it. If there is oppresion anywhere, I care about it. Your scumbag leader chilled relationships between our countries, because we excercised our right to make our own decision, but that is not allowed. You are only allowed tro excersice your right to an opinion if you agree. So, I am involved, my country is. secondly, I am extremely concerned about the insolent, out of control, power mad (IMO, of course) wanna be dick tater and the damage he is capable of wreaking on MY FUCKING ECONOMY, MY FUCKING ENVIORNMENT, MY FUCKING FRIENDS around the world, and showing a callous disrespect for anyone or country that dares to differ. I said, I am scared, and if your fucking so worried about whether or not I have an opinion about your f**** country, how do you F**** justify your opinion about IRAQ. It is not "YOUR F***** COUNTRY", is it now? You said it yourself, mia the incredible foot in mouth crisis of one, you said it yourself You do not live there, mia, so what do you care? Move on. That is my point from the very beginning, and that it is time for the US to mind it's own hoddamn business and quit telling everyone what to do. And if your ar sitetutor try that pansy-ass excuse that it is justified because SH is a criminal madman, I want you to explain why it is so god awful holy important to go after Suddam Hussein when there are far worse example of Genocide, human rights violations, and people in need all over the world already, far more in need than anyone in Iraq ever was. Why, mia. It is not your country, so move along. You said it. You can paint all the fgory pictures you want about any atrocities that Huss Fucking Sein committed, which are far less than in 1988 by orders of magnitude, anything you justify going into Iraq for, there are worse and more imperative examples all over the place. There were and never were weapons of mass destruction. 1 strike. That is the only one necessaryu, because that is the reason Bush gave for going in. His own government people call him a liar over this, and the UK is apoplectic over Blair lieing to them. But you are not, why? He lied to you. There were no terrorist threats in Iraq, that has also been pointed out by washington politicians, and intelligence. 2 strikes The Iraqi people were not in dire threat, and indeed, the Middle East is moving towards more open and democratic processes on its own. It would have been easy to see countries putting pressure on Iraq, just like they do on Syria right now. and Jordam, S. Arabia, Iran, they are doing it on their own, having elections and addressing gender inequalities. Strike three I do not like violence, and that includes anywhere it is, and anywhere people are oppressed, got that? Good I, not like you, I do not have the propaganda clouding my judgement about what is important in the world, ie, only the US inside your borders. i see worse crimes than in Iraq, so naturally I feel that effort should go to these places, as more lives are at stake. You are the one hanging on to the notion that only Hussein should be taken care of, you are the one ignoring even greater death, poverty, and oppresion elswhere. What does that say? You would rather go after Suddam when 2,000,000 people are homeless and dying in Darfur, your own govt, His Majesty, the Royal Heinous Blushâ„¢ even says it is a genocide, 70, 000 people killed in 8 months, 800,000 in other places in africa in the last ten years, yoyu would rather let that way greater number of people die, starve, fight, rape, terrorise, yes, terrorism is rampant there, it just isn't Islamic fundamentalists, you are willing to let that slide. And you accuse me of being a suddam and terrorist supporter. am the one concerned with the rest of the world, the greater evil, and everyones future, my friends in the US included. I see not only this miscreants miscarraige of justice on the world stage, but I see a dangerous assault on the freedoms than come with and open society, and fair society, I see Bush et alâ„¢ stomping on the constition and bill of rights you guys are proud to display on your walls.
Another thing that sent a chill down my spine tonight: I noticed now that several people from the US have singled France out as being particularily reprehensible, and frowned upon. This struck me as curious earlier, and then it hit me like a sledgehammer. You are being fed propaganda, pure and simple. aren't you, US dwellers? There is no mockery or blaming of France in the rest of the worlds forums, blogs, news services - anywhere, even on the British satire site I was reading earlier. They make termendous ridicule of bush, joking about soldiers being mission to find a reason for them being there, Bush and Blair getting their stories always mixed up. there is tremendous ridicule of the US, shocked?, are you? it is second nature to me, and everyone else, just a matter of the rediculous state of yoyr foriegn affairs the last 5 years. there is ridicule and criticism and scorn for the US, but not for Fra ance... Nothing special about Fra a a nce. But I'll bet any money you are getting whack loads of negative opinion on US stations. Am I right? i don't know, I am only guessing, but when I see France leading the opinion polls in the rest of the world as the most trusted world leader, and the most voiciferously oppossed to Bushwacker, it suddenly fell into place. Because if there is negative press being spread around, and several people now have used almost statistic like presicion and identical wording, if there is this going on, then it is the scariest realization I have had in a very, very, long time. Because, well, I'll just wait and see what you all have to say. And perhaps I'll look up CBS, FOX, MSNBC, ABC, and do little browsing myself.
Hey, don't know your Special Republican Guard from your elbow? No worries. Kill the right raghead with our cut-out-and-keep guide I like that one, it shows the various ways to identify insurgents. Funny stuff. Dumsfeld releases personal terror dossier A voice of sanity in a world of madness The best LMAO - You know, you guys and gals that are debating with me, and anthonycea of course, and everyone else of varying opinions, I am just beiing representative of the general perception and feeling outside the US. I never ever go a day without reading negative reports or opinions on the US, Bush, Iraq, and the US economy. It is standard fare. I don't go looking for it, it is just prominent. I read BBC, CBC, Reuters, NYTimes, and physics and science news. There is even about one report every two days on the science sites (2) about the US and ecology. Don't fool yourself that I am so far out there. I am just as shocked by your attitudes and perspective as you are with mine, I imagine. Kind of a weird feeling, isn't it?
Right there, right when you said that. "Tried to take Kuwait for his..." You've lost any credibility you may have had. My guess is you do not know why Saddam invaded Kuwait. There was a reason for it. It had nothing to do with the US BTW!
I guess I honestly do not care. Ramble... Ramble... Blah, blah, a bunch of explectives.. Requote this, requote that... Copy/paste... Oops, the caps lock is stuck on again... etc, etc., etc. Anyway..
Of course you don't care, mia, I show up time after time, I berate your claims with counter claims, news and editorials. You, still haven't so much as backed or given reasons for more than a couple of "EVENTS" at most, in the whole 500+ posts. Yes, mia, I know the level of your rebuttals. All those Ramble Ramble is so much reasoning, etc and overwhelming illustration of how wrong your are, and an attempt to try to get a reasonable reply from you,m but you still haven't YET! One, and only one out of Dozens? Hundreds? Good one mia, calling names and acting childish. How many times have I pointed this out, but still the same. You see, mia, I am fully willing to address any and all criticism. I wrote that because I read a columnist commenting on the time line of Iraq and the US relations and events. I took his interpretation, and I realize I took it 'out of hand' and on faith, and I never questioned it. However, it is a REASONABLE interpretation, and I want you to show me how it is unreasonable, because it is up to you to do more than say "Ha ha ha I new right there blah blah lost all credibility, blah, respect" but you never even said yourself why it is so stupid. I'll give you a hint. Iraq was at war with ran, basically, and both Iraq and the US were of the mind that Ayatollah Koemhei had to go. Here, mia the moronic, feast your eyes on these quotes, and you better get your ass in gear to prevent yourself from being showed ignorant of even the barest facts, once again. WESTERN SUPPORT 1980-1988 The West's relations with Iraq warmed throughout the war, culminating in military intervention on the Iraqi side. The West feared the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini's radical Islamism and wanted to prevent an Iranian victory. The US removed Iraq from its list of nations supporting terrorism in 1982. Two years later it re-established diplomatic relations, which had been severed since the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. Iraq's principal arms source was its long-time ally the USSR. But several western nations, including Britain, France, and the US, also supplied weapons or military equipment to Iraq, and the US shared intelligence with Saddam Hussein's regime. As the "tanker war" progressed, the US warships also destroyed a number of Iranian oil platforms and - accidentally, according to Washington - shot down an Iranian airbus carrying 290 civilians. Okay, mia the "Honestly, what do you care? It is not your country. I could spend years bashing your country, but I do not live there, so I do not have that right. Move on C'mon, mia, you say rambling blah blah, boring. I say "Look at all this refutation and research showing my point of view and where it came from. Mia, i say the same old, same old, and it is getting annoying and tiring. Back up your F****** words. Now, let's have your take on what happened after 1988, and how there is no way (you're very obvious implication to my post) that Saddam could have possibly thought that the US would be happy he invaded Kuwait next!!!
I agree, me and Anthony will probably never agree on anything politically but that is no reason to hate one another.
"Originally Posted by anthonycea It's over guys and gals, let the future readers have this one so we can all be friends here I agree, me and Anthony will probably never agree on anything politically but that is no reason to hate one another." It is like boxers after leaving the boxing ring, you debate for all you are worth, argue, get emotional, whatever you do, stay calm, everything. But it is just a part of the discussion, and then it's over.
Ferret makes his best post ever on DP, great stuff on how this government works, it is too bad we have to do the work that the press should be doing on forums.
When did we agree to be allies, with our allies, forever? Allies change, as do the times. Politics is often choosing between the lesser of two evils. Perhaps that's why Clinton chose to let bin laden go three times? Who knows... An ally today will turn his back on you tomorrow. They are always looking for something better. It's those who cannot recognize an ally is no longer an ally that simply don't get it.
