Here, go read about what freedom is, and from people who respect it enough call a spade a spade: Press freedom and Freedom of Information I also want to inform you 'mikmik is anti Republican' goofs that I have also made posts stating that I think the soldiers fighting in Iraq are heroes in every sense of the word, and that I started threads the two days before the elections in Iraq hoping and praying that people would vote, that no one would get hurt, and that they could begin at least to get a sense that it was worth it. Here, go read about the First amendment form about twenty links on this page, the First Amendment that I seriously doubt you understand what it means: http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/ here, go read the Bill of Rights, and report back here what it means to you Yeah, open your mind, anyone that thinks you have a right smokin President lookin after ya: Here is a blog by my friend, Geraldine, who is an American, and damn proud of her country, You can find all sorts of stuff about a WoRlD wHeRe WrOnG Is RiGhT Here is some of my research: Did you say DU?
U.S. Bombing Watch: Archive of U.S. Bombings, Invasions and Occupations of Iraq Your Tax Dollars At Work We are crippled because we don't have enough funding. Last year we started 15 new water treatment plants all over Iraq. This year we don't have the funds to build new ones," he says. The Americans have allocated $18.4bn dollars for reconstruction in Iraq, but Mr Misocni says more than 70% of the money his ministry was originally granted has now been reallocated to spending on defence and security. And so dozens of much-needed projects have had to be scrapped. Preventable disease Iraq can't now produce all of the drinking water it needs. "Our people are drinking water either directly from rivers or wells, even the so-called treated water or clean water is not actually clean," says Mr Misocni. "It is contaminated with sewage water." And that means children, in particular, are getting sick. Preventable diseases are killing people here, two years since the war. Statistics are hard to come by, but one official told the BBC that more than one in 10 babies born here will die before they are five. The military uses of DU Hey, man, sitetutor, debunked, don't worry about, okay? Just keep on truckin', maybe try to get out once in a while, learn about death.
It is not funny when one is on the wrong side of war, standing in the line of fire, not only for the victims of war but for those who must fight, they also suffer great hardships in mental and physical health in the end.
you know, after yesterday's apology you made, I was willing to give you another chance. But calling a member here as sick as terrorists has crossed the line in more ways then one. Sitetutor did not hijack a plane and crash it into one of three buildings. He did not strap a bomb to his chest and run into a park full of children and blow them up. He did not drive a car bomb into a pizza joint in israel killing friends..... so lay off already. You like calling people names, fine...stick with stupid and ignorant. But by jumping up to that level, you have truly shown your ignorance and lack of judgement. All it means is you have no idea who and what terrorism really is. I don't even know what you said in the rest of this post and others, and I do not care, this has disgusted me.
I agree with that, our guys want out and mothers are not letting their kids sign up for the military and you can't blame them.
LA Times, a rather liberal publication. The pope wasn't, though. Those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it.
Fair enough, and I think you are correct. I suppose I (and others) make the link so strongly because of the timing of the whole thing. I honestly think he used the attacks as an excuse to go back in and finish the job. I don't agree with us going back in or with us staying there now, but hopefully it will all turn out better in the end. This is a debate I've had with my father actually, and I kinda took the other side in a way. He believes that when a country is bad off enough, they will rise up on their own and do what needs to be done. I told him that while that may be true, don't forget that even we got help in the revolution. Times have also changed, and Saddam gassed and mass murdered hundreds of thousands of people (not sure if it reached the millions, may have). So how do they stand up for themselves? The answer is they don't. I think what bothered me the most is that the US went in without UN approval. I'm all for us playing a part, even a large part, on the international stage, but the UN needs to still be allowed to play their role, otherwise the entire organization is meaningless, which I don't believe is right or just. BTW...just so there is no confusion on any counts, it IS possible to fiercly love this country (which I do) and equally as fiercly disagree with certain actiosn of the government (which I also do). Why is that possible some of you may ask? Well because I am given that right, that privelage and that responsibility. I'm allowed to sit here and say how much I hate President Bush's actions and how much I hate his policies. I'm allowed to do that at a protest (and have) and I'm allowed to speak out against him and others as I please. I can do so without fear of being arrested in the middle of the night and beaten to death or having the same fate happen to my family. I do not take the first amendment for granted, so while I may abhor the fact that President Bush is in power, I cherish the same process that brought him there. end of morning rant
Were you talking about the mass graves, the torture, rape, throwing people off roofs, cutting out tongues, acid baths and over a million people killed? Probably not, huh? Never an outrage for the real attrocities. Not everyone is disappointed saddam isn't still in power. Why are you?
Not an answer to the question - just more blame. And like I said about 5 times now - "you would be angry at Bush Sr if he did take Saddam out of power then. you would have still complained. mik - No sense trying to talk with you since 1 sentence causes you to ramble in 15 directions - sounds like you just got out of college. Where did you learn all of that? from your college MATH teacher?
Sorry Debunked but the Bush administration was about 12 years too late in taking Saddam out, I was mad and so was Swartzkauf when Bush Senior and Cheney left him in power in 91.
Mia already explained it. Our intention was not to take saddam out then, but to help Kuwait. As I've said before, you don't recognize these things, so that (in a circular fashion) you can come back another day and bring the same old objection up again. Never learning. You avoided the question as well. Not everyone is disappointed saddam isn't still in power. Why are you?
Economists warn on US debt crisis The Davos forum usually plays to a packed house US consumers' debts are an "accident waiting to happen", a leading economist has warned. Trouble ahead? That, in turn, kept interest rates low. "This is an utterly insane way to run the world economy," Mr Roach said. "You know that, we know that, but the Federal Reserve is in denial about it." At the same panel, Fred Bergsten, of Washington DC's Institute for International Economics, said the expanding budget could trigger chaos in the currency markets if it continued to drag the US dollar lower. Maybe you should listen to Anthony, too. Maybe you can make a;ll the stupid excuses you want, and logical blunders, and evasive yip-yap, but it will be you who suffer the consequences. Thinking everything is fine, and convincing yourself of that won't feed you when all hell breaks loose. Maybe you thought I was kidding before when I talked about your economy: Here is a rather Conservative publication:
