I'm building a competition site and part of the entry checking will be based on the users IP. The competition will run for three months or thereabouts so I can't simply deny entry to a previous IP as there's a chance it's been re-issued to a totally different person. What I have absolutely no idea about is what is a 'reasonable' number of entries per IP to allow? The IP isn't recorded unless all other tests are passed (and there's a few) so it should only be valid, real human entrants being recorded. But I've no yardstick to judge how many times the same IP might crop up in a three month period in an entire country the size of the UK. I know it's a stupid question but if anyone can suggest some ballpark figures it might help. At the moment I'm planning on doing a 'live' monitor which isn't ideal, trying to gauge the extent of the problem as the competition progresses. Jon
