Well I did not found the picture funny.
Although I live in a muslim country look from the positive side the man has love in the eyes (we can not see the woman's eyes - It does not matter us much imo).
As I always told you have remorse on what your countries - firms do in Iraq etc and you have to get rid of it , this is all behind anti-islam propaganda people are exposed too (ly2 don't take it personal you are only individual - I am talking about the big picture).People will say oh they are bad it is ok we kill them , we torture them , we take their oil , we occupy their land.
This picture has nothing to do with the politics and religion section , it is a general topic and if you have hatred you see what you see , if you believe that people should live how they wanted and be free you see love. That's all.

I do not hate Muslims, though it may be easier for you to ascribe this repulsion to such a hate.

I do not begrudge a woman doing anything she would, so long as she comes to it of her own free will, and not out of the perverse influence of oppression and terror.

A nun in her habit has chosen her life, of her own conscience and free will.

A woman in a burkha, being caned on the streets of Kabul for some foully-conceived "crime" she is no more guilty of than you or I, has not. I do not accept the "jewel" line, when I see women in terror. I do not accept the "jewel" line when I have seen films of women being shot to death, with men cheering in the stadiums, while wearing the burkha, badge of her oppression; I do not accept the "jewel" line when I have seen women being stoned, for daring to love another not prescribed to her by overlording men; I do not accept the "jewel" line when women are forced to remain illiterate, in order to keep them in a state of perpetual subjugation.

If I am stereotyping, please tell me how. Please tell me women under these regimes are free, as you and I, to choose their lives - if they choose to be "jewels," they do so utterly of their own accord; and if they choose to cast off such practice, they are free to do so.

While you're at it, please show me the law in "my" culture that indicates a woman must work. That she must come home and serve a drunk, while mothering her children. Or was this a stereotype?

My problem isn't with Islam. It is a very secular problem, a very human problem, a problem with woman's plight under many Islamic regimes.

    Is this real?

As bad as this post is, along with pretty much all of ly2's hate filled posts in DP P&R forum I still love the burkini line. :D

Do western countries allow women to go around exposing their breasts and genitals? No? That means you still have some 10% modesty why object if we have the rest of the 90% modesty as well?

Let's have some rules in what we call for shall we, if you claim that different modesty requirements for men and women ought to be done any with, then you should denounce western states that bar women from exposing their breasts in public. Charity begins at home.

Some British women that bare their sagging clatty breasts in public (especially in holiday resorts like Greece and Spain)
    really shouldn't. [IMG]

In some muslim countries, women can't even DRIVE or leave the house without a male family member. Such great treatment. Here in the U.S. we just buy a dog or a cat, in islamic countries you get a wife...or five.

They're treated good alright, just so long as that stupid bitch doesn't try to drive or talk, that's crossing the line!

No really, give me a F'ing break. Islam treats women like dog shit and you know it.

Well hey, I know America is the most evil place on Earth, but we do in fact let our whores...dogs...property, (whatever you like to call them) drive and even run errands if they are on good behavior.

But that's the problem, skibladner: I for one am not claiming it's about modesty. I think it's a crime a woman can't walk in step with nature - literally, cannot smell the scent of spring blossoms, without it first passing through the oppressive fustiness of her prescribed cloaks. And I ask again: can a woman under such a society say, to hell with this! I want to breathe! without fear of retribution?

It isn't modesty. It's comfort. It's nature. Woman have as much right to be comfortable as men, do they not? If not, why not?

Before I answer your post I would like to know if you have a problem with "Islamic regimes" who punish men who shave their beards or shorts in public. Modesty is a religious obligation, for both men and women, as prescribed by God in the Islamic religious texts.

It's sick anyway you cut it. For men or women.
But the guy started huffing and puffing about how great islam treats women and how horrible the west treats women.

No, and neither are men allowed to walk down the street whistling in the breeze. By your logic, then, men should wear the Burkha as well.

Woah hey now, look at that! This is a real news breaking event. Someone call CNN, it seems DP has a majority of Muslim users. This will make world headlines by morning.

Yes, I do have a problem with that, as I have a problem with all religious injunctions defining personal attire, grooming, etc. But that's an entirely different question.

I can sport a beard, and breathe.

To put things into perspective, islamic countries will not allow a woman to leave the home without a male family member. If she does, she will be arrested and possibly worse.

In America, if you keep your wife inside the home and don't allow her to leave, it's a felony. We like to call it kidnapping and false imprisonment, you get jail time for it. But you, you like to call it respecting women and treating them like "diamonds". Something doesn't add up.

    :)

You live in a country where one woman gets raped every five minutes. (That's like all the women in your extended family getting raped in a few hours, yet you have time to tell us Muslim men not to protect OUR women. This despite the fact that it is our religious obligation to do so.

Dog shit is normally scooped up and thrown in the bin. Reminds me of how your women are treated, actually.

As I said before, we treat our women like diamond and pearls. We don't leave them unprotected.
