Today any resident within the European Community will be able to register the .eu. We now that if you're in France, you'll see in Google pushes up .fr domains. If you're in Canada, you'll see more .ca domains in your searches. But any guesses about how Google will treat the european domains?
Like other generic domains, I think google pushesh local sites not just because of the domain, but mainly because of the language.
in the uk co.uk gets quite a big push despite the fact that the site are the same language as the .coms
actually the .co.uk TLD makes a big difference even if the server is based in the US. Geo targetted backlinks seem to make a big difference as well
Agreed on the backlinks, but I've not seen the TLD matter in my personal cases. I have seen physical server location play a huge role though so I know that from experience. I do think Yahoo! pays attention to the TLD but I'm not convinced G does.
I think .eus suck because i couldnt get the 2 ones i wanted. Oh well... i seriously think new tlds should stop... too many now...
