I was just wondering if there is ANY demand for a copywriter on DP. I have been studying copywriting and NLP for a few years and write my own copy. I used to get asked to write people sales copy on the copywritersboard. I have always just been more interested writing for myself though. Basically what I was wondering is this. Would it even be worth selling a copyrighting service on DP. I was thinking something fairly low like $300 for a 4 - 5 page sales letter or $500 for the whole sales page + graphics. Or maybe even $50 for an hour of consulting and a detailed critique. Do you think that people on this forum would have any interest in an offer like this. Do you have any copyrighting experience on this forum that showed results? Thanks
I think you will seriously struggle, at least on this site, with what you seem to imply are reduced rates.
There is a lot of demand for good copywriters. Your rates are EXTREMELY cheap and I wouldn't lower them any further. You can find clients who are willing to pay that much and more for quality work. In fact, there are some who will not hire with such low rates so you might want to raise them with some groups.
Also, have A LOT of patience! Most who contact you show a genuine interest, will ask you a bunch of questions, may even throw a price at you, but they lose the interest in looking for someone soon thereafter. I have had four so far. Excuse my attitude, but what lug nuts. They want to be a success out there, but they just sit on their ass. On top of that, they waste our time. Can ya tell I don't have much patience? ~ I don't know, you may want to consider putting up an info and Q&A page to direct them to look at. If they are interested, and they are ready to proceed, I mean, REALLY ready, then have them contact you.
There's a huge demand for copywriters. The problem is that a lot of people only want to pay peanuts. But as already mentioned, there are people out there willing to pay good money. If you market yourself in the real world too, instead of focusing only on online markets, you'll make more money. Another problem I've encountered is that people often want a guarantee that a sales letter will convert into X amount of sales. That's a guarantee that no writer can give - unless they're going to buy X amount of the product.
