    That is the question :)

I dont use tags on my blogs but wonder if i should, do the search engines maybe see them as a load or random keywords bunched together?

Do you use tags and if you do, why do you? and have you noticed a positive change after using tags on your blogs?

A very reputable DP member, who is probably the best SEO expert here, told me NOT to use tags.

Thank you dmi, i shall most likely stick with not using them then, for me not to have so far tells me something doesn't feel quite right.

I think tags can increase ur seo ranking, also ur visitors can find any thing related to that tag/term easily.

+ve Helps you in keyword targetting.
    -ve Create duplicate content.

I myself use it however with care.

1)Don't just fill in un-related tags.
    2)Not more than 5-6 tags.
3)A single tag could contain a normal of 1-2 word never more than 3.
4)Always use tags on which you'll write more in future as I normally use one category and keywords for posts.

    2 cents from experience.

Generally speaking, using tags in your WordPress blog can only be beneficial. Don't worry so much about duplicate content here. Your tag pages will be of good use for SEO because they will generate internal backlinks and will also help you to target long tail keywords. And of course, tags serve the great purpose of helping your readers find what they are looking for on your blog. If you assign relevant tags, and on a regular basis, you will eventually benefit from greater search engine traffic, which again, is another good thing.
