    Hi

I'm registering a domain name for a restaurant that has a name like "Twelve Monkeys" (not real name!). Should I use 12monkeys.com or twelvemonkeys.com?

What are the pros and cons? I'm particularly interested in finding out what the SEO impact of either (if any) is.

I will register both combinations and 301 redirect to the main site, so what I'm really asking is which should I use for the primary domain name?

    All the best

I would use 12monkeys.com as primary, because it's a little bit easier to write (fewer characters).

But it's also depending on what they will use on restaurant windows etc. If they write 12 monkeys on the window, then you should use that as primary.

Exactly what I was going to say. Whatever the name on the restaurant signage is the best to use for the website.

Depends on the actual name of the restaurant. If it's called "12 monkeys", use 12monkeys.com. If it's called "twelve monkeys", use twelvemonkeys.com.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going with the digits, 12etc.com as that's what they use on the signage. Then a 301 php redirect to it on the other (twelveetc.com).
