This is my dilemma right now. My directory is barely 5 days old and it's empty. Then I read about the easy way to get tons of articles everyday from article distribution sites like iSnare and ArticleMarketer. So I registered with them but everytime i get to the part where i have to provide the link of the downloaded script in my site to start receiving articles, I begin to hesitate and end up terminating the page. So what are the advantages and DISadvantages of relying on distribution sites like these to populate your directory? What are the problems you encounter using these services? What are the benefits? What prevented me from completing my registration with them is that I want the authors themselves to submit articles, not some software or site/s. I want to be able to have some "personal" touch with or knowledge of the users of my site and I won't be able to do that in this manner of article submission, 'coz like in Article Marketer, members are not allowed to accept articles from their authors or they will stop sending them articles. Oh, well, I will have hundreds of articles from them in a short time, even thousands, I won't have to wait for authors to take pity on my lonely site and consider submitting their articles there. So is it worth the try? As in my signature, success in not attained overnight. So maybe I will just have to diligently look for ways to get authors to submit to my sites other than this. What do you think?
well i used "ArticleMarketer" to populate an article directory i owned, i though great lets import all legacy/archived article as well, well 50,000+ articles later it crashed script and almost forced my hosting company to terminate my account due to using too much server resources. I would suggest obtaining 100 or so articles so the site does not look empty then promote it and try to get unique articles submitted.
Really? I don't want that to happen to my site/host either. Thanks, excalibur. But how can I get 100 articles to my site? Do I have to fill them in myself?
Yes, maybe sign up 10 accounts in different names, then submit 10 articles per user. Find a Free Article Directory and copy some articles across to your site.
