It is getting like that isn't it? :D

Americans these days, they're so super-sensitive it's unbelievable, what on earth this says about them as a nation, I have no idea, well I do, but if I write thus, it'll only ruffle feathers, so I'll refrain for now. What I will say is, they open themselves up wide open to have the mick taken out of them by their own attitudes towards everyone else.

Certainly, it didn't always used to be this way, there was a time, I suspect, before many here on this forum were even born, that one could take a crack at the U.S. without fear of said comments being taken completely out of context.

Rather like a very spoilt child, the nation these days seems to believe that they can throw their weight around the planet to every other country, but when other countries criticise them, basically slapping them back down like an unruly child, they all bleat on and on about how everyone else is persecuting them. The situation in recent years has become truly ridiculous.

Perhaps one of these days America might actually grow up a bit and become that nation which in years past, everyone used to admire, I fear if they go on as they have been doing, all that will be left for them, is to become the laughing stock of the rest of the worlds countries, mind you, if that happens, John Cleese will have a field day! :D

As for how many under 25's knowing John Cleese, hmmmmm I would say in the UK, about 80-90%.

It's like saying I've never heard of Eddie Murphy.

Yes, it was a joke guys, you know, ha ha?

    I give up!

Happy 4th of July you lot! Hope you all have a great day. The people in your country, generally speaking they're ok, same as the French, they're ok, if a bit off the wall and wacky, there are similarities. As for us Brits, we're all bloody mad, the most totally eccentric people on the planet and proud of it. The only thing that let's Americans down is your current President and your propensity for believing most everything your governmental media machine feeds you. If you learn't to criticise your government a bit more and not to accept everything they tell you off pat, you'd do a whole lot better with your relationships with most other people from all other parts of the world.

Speaking in very broad generalisations of course. Just my observation, for what it's worth.

    Do enjoy the day.

    Warm beer rules!

    Chin chin cheers!
