Hi, Long ago, back in 2003 or so I remember a guy on a forum saying it's not a good idea to submit your site using one of the free search engine submit services. He said don't bother because if you get 100 backlinks or more then all of the search robots will find your site naturally and that is better way to do it. I cannot remember why he claimed this or his name either but I'm wanting to know if this is at all correct or is a stupid thing to do. Now I do already understand that like only 10 search engines really matter, but would still like some input please.
Hi Ricky, Yes no need to submit to 100s SEs. Just submit to Google and YAHOO and MSN and you are done! Or just list your website to some already indexed site, and see your site indexed by Google and other search engines FAST. Best, Warren
Hey Warren, What do u mean about in your second part about sending your website to an already indexed site.
I would just submit to the major search engines 1. Google 2. Yahoo 3. Live / MSN That is all you need
Well, I was thinking about submitting my site to those 3 engines, but I checked my traffic log and I'm already getting a few trickled hits from each of those search engines so I guess I don't need to.
Perhaps this may help re Search Engine Submission, I think if you do the optimization correctly (both on and off page) submission is not necessary. Any company saying it is necessary, KEEP AWAY, they are obviously just out to take as much money from you as possible.
I think it is better to submit site in different search engines, if you have time. it can help to increase your site's popularity.
