To pay, or not to pay? That is the question

Alright looking for some responses to what you would do in this situation. I made a post here at DP to hire some people to post in my forum. ONe of the people signed right up and started making posts. I stated in my original thread they HAD to be original posts. None of this persons posts have been original, all he has done is filled my forum with 1000 word essays he has copied and pasted form other sites, some of which I have even found, and now he is demanded to be paid. Also all of his posts are perfect English, but any correspondance I have had with him have left me wondering if he even knows English... so with that said, what would you do in this situation?

Essays, duplicate content? Thats not really completing the job at all (it's also against copyrights if he just took them off sites).

If you had asked for original posts, you haven't been provided with what you had asked for :)

What was the amount involved btw ?

It's a tricky one. This poster has done you an injustice by providing duff work but if you refuse to pay he/she might cause trouble for you in return. Depending on the amount of money in question I think I would send them a snotty email voicing my displeasure at their dishonest ways but I would pay them anyway.

I had offer $5 for 50 posts, he requsted to make 100 posts for $10. I told him he could do so but to make sure, and as requested in the op was that 5 accounts be used for the 50 posts, he has now made 90 posts all with 1 account, all form what I can tell unoriginal. And I said, in the new threads he creaed I type the title of them into google, and there were his entire posts listed on another sit.

This here is what I stated in the original post. I really feel he has not provided the service I requested. And I even confronted him about this on the forum and through pm's on my site.

    Hello Everyone,
I am looking for forum posters to jumpstart my forum. It is an easy forum to post in. It is a debate/discussion/argument forum where pretty much any topic is welcomed.

I am looking for 5 people right now, possibly more later, who want to earn $5.00. Payments will be made on the later of September 10th or when you complete your posts. (This is so all the posts don't happen on 1 day, I would prefer them spread out)

    The guidelines:
1 . All posts should be unique and original. All the posts should be at least 20 words in size, and contain no links to any personal or affiliate sites.
    2. All the payments will go through paypal.
    3. To earn the $5 you must create 10 new threads, 50 posts in total (including the 10 threads) and use 5 users.

That is about it. Also do not be scared to attack other people, nothing to serious of course, but if you disagree with them let them know about it. That si what the point of the forum is.

Also any posts in the "General Discussions" do not count towards the total.

If you want to begin simply post a message in this thread and when completed pm me here the names of your accounts so I can verify the post totals.

    Thanks and have fun!

My answer is simple: I would not pay him until he posts the required amount of ORIGINAL posts.

    :)

I agree that you should write a email saying what you believe is right, but then pay him and never do work with him again. Post in his ITs what he did to you. He will learn.

Thank you all for your responses. I think will pay him the original amount of $5 and move on with a lesson learned.

    Thanks again.

Absolutely do not pay him. He didn't meet the basic terms of the job. You shouldn't pay him for not doing the job you hired him for! If you hired someone to build you a house, and he built you a garage instead, would you pay him for the house??

Delete all of the unusable posts from your forum and pay him for what is left. Give him a red rep. The iTrader I would probably just leave alone - don't give him any iTrader at all...

from this sentence i can say that you do not have to pay him more than 5$ because he didn't follow this rules. (this is a fee for his job, not talking about the posts that you could reject because it's not original)

I agree with this one. Yes, pay him but let others know that he do a bad job! On that way he'll learn his lesson. :(

Don't pay, I had the same thing recently and it cost me time/money to remove all the stupid posts.

I really don't want to pay because he clearly did not provide the service I requested... but I am worried abuot getting a negative iTrader, I just started here at DP not too long ago and would hate to get banned for something like this.

I doubt you would get banned for this. Don't worry about the negative itrader and don't pay him.

They ban you for infractions not negative iTraders. I would hate the neg iTrader too, but if you hurry up and bury it with many positive iTraders, it won't affect you too much in the long run.

Look if you pay him, I don't think he will learn. Telling others about him is not going to help much.
