SUp all. Im helping out a buddy who has about 10 websites all in the same niche. We want to gear up for some specific keywords/phrases. The sites are all 3-6 years old have pr from 2-3 and are indexed fairly well to start. None of them link to each other at all. My question is what is the best way to go about doing this. 1. Create some footer links that have all the sites linking to each other? 2. Find the best ranked site and have all the other ones link to it? 3. Don't link any and just concentrate on cleaning up the seo on the sites. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I see no problem in linking them as long as they target a similar niche. You may want to split them in a few small groups when you link to each other so every site will get about 3-4 backlinks from the others. The best way to do it is through contextual content. Write a niche related text for the footer or sidebar and insert the links into text
Reciprocal links have much less value these days. For example, if site A links to site B, and site B links back to site A, neither will get much link love. I'd say you'd be best planning the links so that no two sites link to each other e.g. site A links to B, C and D, B links to C and D, and C links just to D. In this case your most important site (D) is getting lots of one-way link-love and you're still not alienating B or C (but A can go to hell!). Just a thought
Good thoughts thanks! So anyone have any thoughts on linking all of them to the main big site? Thanks
