I'd say CSS, HTML and Photoshop are the crucial ones . .

 

I think Photoshop,html and css are must.

 

For website designing i would suggest you to have the knowledge of basic HTML and Photoshop. Once you know this then after that you can learn CSS

 

All are essential for a good designer.. but i could say you should learn Photoshop first.. then you will leard the rest gradually.. all the best...!

 

Static Website - HTML, CSS, Javascript & Photoshop are enough.

Dynamic Website - In addition to the Static requirement, you also need to know either PHP or ASP or ASP.NET with C#.net or VB.net

Can you tell me what is the difference between static and dynamic.

Also please tell me what is the requirement for

• creating a wordpress blog design or
• templates or design in thesis theme ( http://diythemes.com/ ) or
• creating own design portfolio in wordpress.

The easiest way to make a template/theme is to base it from an existing one. I usually start with one of the plain default ones that ship with whatever I'm trying to make a new theme for.

Then you gradually start messing with spacing, images, colours etc until it is how you want it. For that, you need to have some grasp of html, css and whatever image making software you use. I personally use inkscape and gimp, because they are free.

You'll also want developer tools. IE 8 and above come with them (press F12) and it is the Firebug add on for Firefox.

corel draw is for graphic design

 

Just Add Flash also. It will Helpful to You.

 

So to learn wordpress template design ... I should learn -

Must learn -

1. HTML
2. CSS
3. Photoshop

Optional -

4. Flash

Will that be enough.

Come on dude, it depends on your needs. You don't really need PHP for a website design. If you got static content then HTML + CSS will do that. And of course you need a photo program if you want to have some graphics on your website but it's not all about Photoshop ...

HTML and CSS first. They're the basics and without which you can't do much.

Well, you should just stop asking because you already have our suggestion.

You need basics! Just read some articles about HTML and CSS and try to understand what it is.

 

for starting up, you should first learn HTML, CSS and some Photoshop after that.
When you`re done with this, you can try to learn PHP and Javascript.

Note that most newbies expect PHP and Javascript to be easy to learn, maybe a bit harder than html. The truth is, if you don`t have any programming experience it will be hard as hell to learn.
One big advice if you made it so far: Don`t give up, if you got up to this point, you might as well want to go on!
