To get bots to my site more if i put out new content

well i see how i can say headlines and stuff and see that they are on the engines are the engines going to people sites like every 10 mins that is on sites that have new content.
but how does a engine know how often you update.
and another thing if i do write new content do i have to kill the old content. or what.

You can be constantly generating new content either dynamicly with a database or by using RSS feeds just to name two options.

    trial and error.
The bots visit the site, and see if anything new has appeared. Over a period of time they'll be able to tell approx' how often you update things.

And as far as spidering goes, it doesn't matter whether you wrote it or not. As long as you surround it with plenty on navigation, it won't be duplicate.
