Website 4 years old. Good PR, Great Google position. After, we changed complite website for new one, (only domain name is old) Google took us off. What do you think guys, will Google put us back soon? Will it think like we are New website always? Can we do anything? Thank you in advance for answer!
I don't think google will give back you the same position, As far as you have changed entire web site rather the domain name, There will be huge change in your ONSITE SEO info,. You have to get some more backlinks. However, once your new changes are cached and if you OLD backlinks are still there, there are some possibilites to get abck to your position back in Google. Get 100-200 backlinks and wait for a week and check it out.
Thank you for the answer. I was wondering, how some websites do the same (changing all website, only domain is the same) and they still OK in SE.... There is no way, 10 years to stay with same design or website, time is move on, new things coming, people changing everything, website what have been made 10 y.o. couldnt look nice now, you know what i mean? How to deal with it than?
Well, when you changed your design did you replace everything with flash or images? I know that is a common mistake that people make.
From old website we only have a Top Logo image. Layout of pages have been changed also, cos website was re-writing on different language (from Perl to php)
Hm... give google some time and they should probably get your website up again. The penalty is probably because Google's data centers have different update times and are conflicting with each other. Either that or you seriously screwed up your on page SEO.
Oh yeah!! I remember seeing a video from Matt cutts which explains the same stuff. CHANGING the layout can effect your page rank if you change the layout and the links associated with the site. U also mentioned that u changed the source code as well. So google treats your website as a brand new one.
I you have a site that has been sandboxed from the google SERPS, the most common problem is that you don't do any more SEO for that site. If Google finds out that you leave a site without changing it or creating backlinks for it, the site will get sandboxed and you will no longer have a good ranking. Make sure to always update your site with new content or create new backlinks everyday to prevent sandboxing.
If you have changed the contents of the old pages then it will take time to get back to the same position.
