a page where people can contact you or even just an email address at the bottom of the page
paid ones especially, no way to ask for new categorys or anything

And I got bombarded with emails to add tons of categories, etc.
So I eliminated my email function.
There are enough catergories and sub-categories, that more are not needed.

it just kinda sucks when theres a gaming directory with categorys for gameboy/psp and not the PS2 (1st or second most popular games console ever) where its $5 for a link and no contact page whatsoever

    same with other sites..
when you have a games category with 100+ links in it it would be wise to add a few subcategories

In my directories, if I notice the submission doesn't really fit into the category it was submitted into, I usually just make a new category anyway.

An option you could try is at the start of your site description when submitting an ad, you can try putting something like **ADMIN Games/Consoles/PS2 would be a good category for this :) ** and then continue with your regular description. While I can't speak for others, I myself do read the descriptions and check the sites, so I'd likely add the category. A directory that receives hundreds of submissions a day might not want to spend the time editing your submission and adding a category though (especially a free directory), so YMMV.

I wouldn't submit to one if they didn't - assuming you paid for the listing.
