Hi all, Many other advertisers for other ad networks have restrictions on the source of all sales generated through a publisher. Does it matter where the sales come from? Even though the tracking is in a URL, do I need a webpage to post that link or can I make sales without the use of a webpage and just using the URL? Thanks
CB is like no other network, and it's all digital products. Thus CB discourages contact with your advertisor (in our world they are called merchants/publishers/vendors - CPA's call them advertisors - here those are considered affiliates - bass akwards I know but get used to it). Restrictions? You'll find CB is probably to loooosest network around re gray marketing or borderline blackhat. Not to say you'll get away with anything/everything, but no you will not find publisher rules like you do in the CPA world or other CPS networks. Some of the things you will find you are able to do with CB products/offers that you cannot with most others: *Bid on brand names/product names/product domains. *Article marketing *CraigsList and other directory/classified marketing *Review sites The list goes on... In our world, most merchants are happy as a pig in s#it just to get a few affiliates, and if you do any type of volume, they'll hug your nuts tight for as long as possible. If you get them sales and use some tactics that might be frowned upon elsewhere, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the reaction you get vs. a big brand going for leads through a CPA... You don't need your own lander but it's advised, and gives you lot's of advantages (search the forum for 'landing pages' you'll find tons of useful posts but the major points are low cost per click, seo capabilities, different domains/sub-domains to split test landers/presells/optins etc.). Yes you can make sales just using the URL/hoplink, you can even mask it, tinyurl it, redirect it, but most of the internet won't let you post those, hence your own .com landing presell page is the way to sprinkle the web with your links and get teh moniezes.
