To allow posts, or purely informaitonal?

I have an idea for a sports related page.

Let's keep this simple, so that my request is clear. Do I want to allow everyone to post, or just limit them to comments? (I'm not even sure yet how to do that) I'm trying to use the FB page to drive traffic to my own page. But this is a double edged sword to me. On one hand, user interaction will potentially drive interest. But on the other hand, it could clutter page, and drive it away.

I'm very new to the Social Media aspect, so go easy on me.

    Thank you.

If you allow your Facebook fans to contribute posts, you'll want to be sure to put them on moderate so that posts go by you before publishing. Or, you'll want to heavily moderate and check the page daily for spam as some fans will use your page to advertise their own page/site rather than adding quality content. If you decide only to allow comments, you have some more control over what goes on your page.

I agree with Lokahi. If you are going to allow users to post comments with Facebook, you'll want them moderated. It will keep out the spammy posts and make your page & website look more professional.
