Hi PHP programmer people. I'm a php programmer and I have an ideas, but I just want to bring up so we can discuss here.

My ideas, is about forming up a php programmer people and build up a web application on the net like an E-commerce website or a Search engine like google and etc.

I know there's a lots of bright php programmer here, so why don't we build something on the net so we can share the benefit or whatever we looking for.

Lets talk and see if it is a good idea for us or not.

    cheers.

    Finau.

that's a vague description of what you want to do. Really, what I think people need is leadership. There are many smart people that just needs to be lead. If you have a clear vission and know what EXACTLY you want to do and can communicate to people that message clearly and effectively. Lots of people will follow you.

You need to, of course, show some initiative and kick off the project yourself and get people to join in. Rather than just saying we should do this and that.

    that what i think anyway...

What a great distribution kmap. Thanks.

How about if we can build a social network like facebook so we can earn money from the advertiser or we can build a shopping cart and let’s people pay for it.

Here are some points I come up with:

What are the benefits that differentiate our system from our competitors?
    - Security
    - Usability
    - Consistency
    - Professionally

What are the advantages that our customer can get from our system?
    - Easy to use
    - Easy to update
    - Online support

When we build the system we might consider these things.
    - It’s easy to update?
    - It’s easy to expand?

    And what else….?

    Anyone?

Do you have a web site? What would be the potential profits of being a developer in your organization?

Regarding the social network platform, agreed that social networking is hot and everyone and their brother wants to build the next MySpace or Facebook in search of overnight success and riches. Well, even though the vertical contains some big players, there is always room for niche communities. Build a better mousetrap, do the analysis, know your competitors, and have a vision.

The mistake people make when planning the next big thing happens the moment they say like. If you want to build something like facebook, then that's all it is ever gonna be.

When describing your project, describe it as a place for people who need ...

Regarding the niche communities, I was not referring or implying forums. Facebook started as a niche community for students and then expanded its community to a larger user base. Niche can be music, gender, sport, age group, or anything targeting a specific market. However, if the market is small then one's chances of growing are limited. Like I mentioned previously, do the analysis (including gap analysis), know the competition, and have a vision.

I'd try to be a lot more specific and unique then that. First of all, immedialty I can sense a lack of leadership in that post. It's a "hey guys let's get together and try to code something" kind of thing, which is destined to fail. I cannot count how many projects I've been apart of that started like this and went downhill within the first few days. The lack of leadership naturally degrades dedication from the participating peers and ultimately either degrades the final result of the project or simply just aborts it.

Not to mention, things like Google, Youtube, and E-Commerce were big for a reason. They were revolutionary and ultimately excelled at their field.

It's not only having a great idea, is also how you make it, every small decision in the way to the completion of the great idea can be decisive

If you haven’t build a web application project was takes thousand and thousand line of code to complete and I think this topic is not very well for you. This topic is for the people has experienced in PHP programming and they know how to successful run a project from the beginning to the end.

However, all your ideas and contribution is vital.

What I’m focusing at this time is a NEW IDEAS.

If you got an idea, then bring up so we can discuss.

    cheers,

    Finau.
