To Adsense or not to Adsense (Membership) - Revenue Analysis Question

    Hey,

    I have a question. I'm a member of a site. The Admin is wanting to go to a Member based system ($1 / month) and I think he would make more money just installing Adsense into various pages.

    The site is a Myspace Like clone running on a BuddyZone Script (http://www.vastal.com/buddy-zone-social-networking-script.html). What sort of revenue would you project for a site with his statistics (Currently US based membership with the following numbers at 3:00AM CST):

    Guests Browsing Around: 288
    Members (visible + hiding): 297
    Total Users Online Right Now: 585
    Total Members Registered: 33,195

    ~800,000 page views a day according

    What kind of revenue would you project for implementing ad sense?

    A very good amount if it's a MySpace niche, they freaking click on anything! When it comes to revenue I couldn't give a figure, there are so many factors to look at. You would have to factor in CTR, Ad placement, etc. Do a monthly trial.

    Can anyone do a standard range calculation... Can anyone give me a lowball on All parts of the Adsense variables (or a standard range would be best).

    Yes Adsense would be good revenue earner but it would be very less...

    I'll give you my site/forum as a comparison. I get a lot of myspace related traffic, and a lot of my premium membership content is myspace related:

    Total members: ~15,000
    Visitors per day: ~10,000
    Pageviews per day: ~35,000

    Premium Membership: Approx 1,200 premium (paid) members
    Cost: $5.99 first month, $1.99 every additional month
    Total earnings from paid/premium membership in December: ~$4,700

    I also display Adsense to anonymous visitors:
    Total Adsense earnings for December: $2,000 (averages $3k, most months)
