TLDs

Does anyone know which TLDs Google gives preference to, if at all. For example would widgets.com rank higher for a "widgets" search than widgets.net if all other factors are the same?

tld's do not count as far as seo goes. Only if your searched word is part of the tld extension..

    See :

    fishing info

    hosting in uk

    com domains

    Etc :)

Also, does anyone know whether "red-widgets.com" or "redwidgets.com" would do better on G when searched for "red widgets".

Nice. Just came across a stash of unregistered my-keyword.nets. Maybe I should grab them

    In my opinion :

    1. .com's
    2. .org's
    3. the rest :)

IMO the tdls would attract users more than search engines. Suppose if i am from uk, i would click on a .co.uk link more often than a .com link in serp's

    I personally like .nets too.

IYO, is there a why orgs come second instead of nets or is it just that you like them better?

Most of them are misused badly, and more than .nets.
It might even be easier to read out.

Could you expand on that a bit? The reason I ask is that I have a great keyword (7-letter phrase) combo in mind, but all (US) TLD extensions except the .info are taken.

I guess what I am asking is whether, in your opinion as an SEO expert, the plus of the extremely KW focused and descriptive domain, outweighs the minus of a .info extention?

I just like org more than net.

As for "not the same". I may be wrong. Please tell me your opinion.
