    Hey Guys,

    I have always worked with title tags in a specific way,

    {MySite} {Page Title}

    This would be my usual format for a title tag but recetnly I have been told be a few people that repeating your brand or site name in all your title tags has a negative effect.

    Does anyone have grounds for proof on this or is it just a rumor?

    HI,
    I m not agree with it, see you can use your site name in title of every pages and it will help to maintain your brand name. But it is advisable to use site name at the end of title coz at the beginning you can use your targeted keyword instead of site name.

    I removed my site name from the title, and it seems to have a positive effect.

    Page Title | Section Title (If Appropriate) | Site Title

    Note that the page title will have the most relevance in the search engines, and thus be given more weight than the section title and site title. However, having the section and site titles do enhance the usabililty of the Web site, especially for those who are using assistive devices such as screen readers.

    Yet another instance of search engines piggy-backing off of your site's accessibiliy to everyone, regarldess of ability (or disabililty).

    Of course it has a positive effect, you have decreased the length of the title of the page and increased the % of the keywords in the title, but you have lost to branding name.

    Removing the site title from your title tags would be good for getting a decent place in the SERPS, but branding is valuable nonetheless, especially for articles and such.

    EG: An article on my site called "How To Make Salvia Divinorum Extract" - you'll find a few guides on it, but if it's in someone's bookmarks with " | Coffeesh0p.com" appended to it, people are more likley to go back to it, check out whatever else is on that site or tell their mates.

    If your brand has been developed to the point where people trust your content over others, branding in the title is a great idea, because everyone knows it's going to be quality content from the <head> down.
