Hi, I was looking around the web at the not-so-famous search engines, and one of them caught my eye, http://www.scrubtheweb.com. Once you submit the site it offers you a small option to analyze your site. According to them a title should not be more than 60 chars. The description not more than 150 chars and the Keywords, 874(?) chars, (including spaces and comas). They also claim that the same word should not be repeated more than 3 times in the keywords. What do you guys think of those numbers? I assumed there was a limit in the length of your tags, but I didn’t know that it could actually count against you to have too many characters. Or are they just pulling numbers for the sake of their own robots? FFMG
They are reviewing to what the search engines can display. On a SERP page, you can only see roughly 60 characters for the Title. Same goes for the descriptions. If you happen to go over, it won't hurt you, it just won't be seen by search engine surfers.
Google is very sensitive to KW stuffing of title. Some opinions about Google, is that only the first 2 words in title have the upper hand. So a wordy title wont mean much at Google. D
