I have a custom theme and I did none of the coding. The designer and I had a falling out so I cant contact him. When I search for pirateshipwrecks.com in google all that comes up is the name of the site on top of the search. I want it to come up with other words, more SEO friendly. I figured just FTP and change the title but that doesnt seem to be working. I modified the title in my server under header.php and changed it to what I wanted. I saved it and then went to the site. Nothing changed....When I look back at the file my changes are still there but on the site nothing has changed. I dont understand it and am confused. There was a code that used the title of my site to put in the title but I deleted it and replaced it. Just nothing has changed. Can anyone help?
You mean you want a good SEO title? Why dont you download the SEO title plugin for wordpress. http://www.netconcepts.com/seo-title-tag-plugin/ Im using it myself and it works like a charme, not just for the front page but for every single post page.
you can change title in your server under header.php if you do it correctly. or you can change the name of the site in your database.
Yea the fix was changing it under the admin tab. Still so much to learn about wordpress. Thanks guys.
