How much letters I can use with my site´s title? How much is good for google robots?

Should I use <h1> -tag with my pages titles in the site itself, I don´t mean <title> in header. It is good for google bots or or ?

    Thanks dudes!

I try to keep my titles tags to about 65 -70 charaters. Use H1's and H2's with keywords in them. Try to match the main keyword in the <title> with the keyword in the H1

I would agree with both these suggestions. H1 tags are a good way of telling SE's what your primary keyword is on each page. If its consistant with your title and meta tags you will do a lot better.

I think H1 tags are overused, they've lost their value for SEO. Better to use H2 in my opinion.

The longness of a title doesn't matter as long as it is informative and contains your keywords but remember that different search engines index only specified characters of your title tag and it might be useless to have a 100 character title when a search engine only indexes 70 characters.

the standard is around 60 chars. and you can only use h tags on your content not on the title itself... :)

H tags are still recognized by some SE... and your title must not exceed to 70 characters I guess.. H tags are used on your content as well as the other tags like bold, h1, h2, etc.

Keep it short and punchy, you shouldn't really be targeting each page to more than 2-3 main keywords anyway.

Use the H! tags to reinforce your main keyowrds and the H2s to add derivatives,

    i.e.

Page Title - Computers and Laptops
H1 - Buying Used Computers And Laptops
H2 - How do you you find cheap computers?

    Thanks dudes!

I´m thinking if I add for everypage something like this:

if page is news.php and title is "site name - news" I would add <h1>News</h1> in the first row of the page and that´s like for every single page.

Should I use <h2> for every single news title?

I mean my news are configured like this:

    title
    post date
    full story
    end

    Thanks to you!

If you're going to use semantic markup, you might as well use it properly. H1 is the title of the Web page, H2 through H6 are headings that identify what the forthcoming block of text is about. If you need a real world example of this in action, buy a newspaper. The site logo/masthead isn't a heading (in HTML I use an image for this), but each article (at least the long ones) will have a topmost heading - this is where the H1 element gets used. Long articles will be broken up into smaller, easier to read chunks with their own heading that is relevant to the article as a whole. This would be your H2 headings in HTML. And so on and so on down the line all the way to H6. You'll also notice that at least two subheadings (h2-h6) are used, meaning you won't see three H2s and a single H3, and they also don't skip each other either. In this manner, they act like an outline.
