title: gaming or no gaming?

I'm starting a gaming site, and I'm wondering what would work better.

I know the name of the site I'm going to buy, but I dunno if i should suffix it with "gaming" or just have the name...?

    So it'd be <whatever>.com or <whatever>gaming.com
which is a better idea in sites...?
suffixing it with what type of site it is? or not?

Having the word "gaming" in it will help people recognise that it's a gaming site, but in the end of the day, depends on how well you brand the site.

Eg. Google.com branded themselves very well, they don't have their name as GoogleSearchEngine.com

Quite true. I ended up purchasing it without GAMING at the end. I had asked around elsewhere too, people seemed to agree with you htmlindex.

Buy them both, have one redirect to the other.

htmlindex raises a good point here, as your domain name
grows in popularity it becomes pointless to attach its
    generic term to it.

Well I've already purchased the domain.
I thought it'd be a bit too long if i had hydratekgaming.. and it's easier on the person typing it in to just type hydratek.net
