title attribute of anchor element

    does title attribute (see example below) have any effect on SEO?

    I don't think so. It is the anchor text that has the impact, not the title attribute.

    Now that is just one man's opinion. There may be others who disagree.

    The title has importance. Not a large one, but has.

    It's almoust as alt is to images. :)

    I have never seen it make a difference in the SEO tests I have seen. I also don't think it hurts you so I suppose you might as well have it if thats your preference.

    I would love to see a test where it did make a difference though so post any personal results you may have or have seen expertu.

    I don't think I've ever used it - it just seems like more page bloat IMO - though alt image text should never be ignored as it can be a good driver for image search traffic IMO.

    It is generally considered that alt image tags only have value when used with clickable images. Otherwise google is thought to ignore them.
