Tips to improve income?

Alright, atm i get a really low income with adsense. I get about 2000 impressions a day and a pathetic CTR of 0.2-0.5%. Can any1 maybe gimme some tips on how to improve my CTR, maybe by changing the ad format or position?

your ads are not blended in with your site layout and they look like ADS. blend them in with same site backgrount and text color, you will have better conversion

 

I think the adsense ads for movie niche paid low $. The normal ctr is 2-5%.
BTW i dont like website with popup.

This adcolor are not suitable. Try to use more regular ad colors and a better site design

 

you should experiment with the placement of your ad sense units. Meaning, you can put them in the middle of the page so that users see the units within the content. Also, try out Google links or a Google search box if you haven't already....

adsense is a work in progress, try a few implementations to see if the situation improves...

 

Better blending of ads with the contents will help improve the CTR and also you can try different ad formats (336x280 or 300x250 formats perform better for more people) and see which one suits you better.

 

Let me have at this..

First of all the color scheme is terrible, gray and light green isn't really that nice to look at. try to change it so that your content will be better read by the visitors.

Next is the URL's u can use MOD rewrites so that the title of the movie would be showing in the URL, it seems you are probably getting it from a database and using just the ID of the row as a key. try the title + mod rewrites

Try to widen your site its a bit cramped and doesn't give a good impression for the first time visitors. Also add more images, people like images (use alt tags for it if you like). Prioritize user experience first.

Create a banner for your site, giving it a better look and a unique ness.

build more content, while taking into consideration key words related to your topic.

try to convert your site to a tableless design as this is better for SE.

remove the pops ups, no one likes them.

try experimenting with other font styles for your site. a good tip is for you to imitate the font of your ads so that it wont stand out as much as right now.

make your link color the same as your ads, this will better blend your designs and show consistency.

dont place ads on pages with very few content as this might get you in trouble. try experimenting on placement and try it one by one. Your site seems a bit flooded with adsense and the color scheme is just shouting (or maybe its just the color).

Create a sitemap for your site and add it to your robot.txt file so that SE will be able to index all your pages.

Your <title> tags are crap at the moment. try to put keywords there and don't use "Welcome".

META tags are still debatable but if you have time add some in your pages.

Use <H1><h2> header tags in your content as this impacts a lot on SE.

clean up your codes, and check all your links if there are broken ones.

I dont think you have a"Privacy Policy" ( or i may have missed it sorry) this will get your adsense in trouble later as this is required by google.

I had a movie site before although a scrapped it, try to create a news page where you can update and add content regularly,

also add a downloads page, im sure you can create wallpapers that users can download. name them correctly and it will possitively add more page views.

Create a page for your profile to give your site a more personal look. Users will either go to "imdb" as its an authority site or to personal ones as they have a more personal touch. dont try to make it look too professional.

i suggest try to use orange and blue color scheme, try blue color for your links. It is proven that blue links are still the best color as its the age old color for hyperlinks that some nontechie people still draws to.

also if your not a team, try to rephrase your site with just "you".

Very rude, then it was attached to your popup because my system said it blocked a .exe file, i will have to look at it at work to see which one it blocked, but your site and this site were the only ones open at the time....
So its not a popup...and you might want to be less rude to people, especially when they could click bomb you (which i wouldnt do) just figured I would warn you because there are a-holes around here....

Use a bigger ad unit at the top of the page (336x280) and no one clicks popups.

 

i actually like that lime green and grey, its just my taste

well i just changed all the links and adsense to blue, lets see if it improves anything
