Thanks for your comments. Thats a good tip however the paypal rep bit is not that important these days, especialy for uk users as i think paypal stopped that for uk members. Never the less still great advice.

Thankyou, i'm glad you found your way to my thread, and it's nice to see someone doing their homework for a change rather than charging straight into a deal. Far to many people just take obvious risks and then end up wondering why they were duped.
I do agree that tips are useful, but still there are no guarantees what type of person we encounter. People who want to scam will do it anyhow. It also depends how proactive we are and how we tackle the situation.
Exactly once people start becoming aware of common tactics the scammers will find other ways. I think the best thing to say under those circumstances would be "be vigilant" allthough sometimes despite your best efforts and taking every precaution you may still end up being scammed, it's sad I know but as they say shit happens.
These tips could actually be applied on mosts forums with a marketplace and trader feedback system but where some tips don't apply just use your common sense, you'd be surprised how far it can get you
