Few month back my client site was stuck in Sandbox and its ranking was dropped heavily so In order to get rid of SandBox what I did is updated the SiteUp on weekly basis and posted site RSS to some RSS eater site and site started to come out of sandbox. the another thing i did was did lot of blog commenting on related blogs and leaving the pages where were rated Low Value and by doing all this site is up and back now to normal.

just thought to share this with other members!

One question regarding sandbox: Did you ask google to reconsider the site, or you just did the stuff you say?

Having penalties that makes your site rank lower than it should, or "sandbox" is not the same as being de-indexed, asking for a re-consideration for a sandboxed site will not accomplish anything because it isn't de-indexed or banned, it just isn't ranking as high as it should because of a set of penalties that are being applied to the site by google.

sandbox means your site is new and doesn't too many backlinks to your all pages and its has got nothing to with being penalties banned.

and to answer how to findout if your site is in sandbox here are the rules

    1) Your site is less than two years old or you have made major changes to your website.
2)If you search for the exact text of your sites title tag and it does not show up in results.
3)Your site had some good results rankings but then dropped off in its positions rapidly.
    4) Your site has good rankings in Yahoo, MSN Live and other search engines but not in Google.

It's also basically pointless as Google customer service is practically non existent.

You can't send a reconsider request to Google for being Sandboxed because there is nothing to reconsider. When you are "sandboxed", most of the time it's because Google has a hard time determining where to place you in the rankings. It could be because you built many links or spontaneous link building. Best thing to do is to continue building links, stopping link building can make linger even more.

To check if you're in the box look at your rankings. If you can't find yourself and site: operator doesn't work, you are de-indexed. If you can find yourself or at least use the site operator, you are sandboxed.

Add more good, unique, quality content and atleast 1-5 diverse backlinks per day. That would get you out of the Sandbox.

Just a note about Yahoo. I had a site that was listed on, but was not being indexed in Yahoo at all. I put in what I think was called a "re-inclusion request" via their webmaster tools. It worked!

Google, however, has no such option unless your site is not listed at all.

First of all thanks for sharing this. I have some questions:
    to which ones?
    Approx. how much per day?
What do you mean by this.. ? Rated low value where, or how did you check?
Also, how did you get rid of them, have you deleted them and 301-redirect?

Sorry for having that much questions, I face the same problem now so some details would really help I think..

    Cheers
