I'm still a newbie copywriter but I am writing copy for a local make up artist / photographer. I'm still in the process of researching. I have written a list of all the benefits of her service. I have found all her local competitors and written where I think they have gone wrong on their website or what they have done right. Then I looked for all the reviews comparing the negative and positive ones, taking anything that may be of use to me in the future. This is only my second time writing copy and i'm unsure of what research I would need to do next as I don't feel I am ready to write yet. Has anyone got any ideas??
If this is your first time writing copy, check some tips from college sources that can point you in the right direction picking up the pieces an putting them up together: https://brand.ucf.edu/writing-style-guide/tips-for-writing-copy/ http://www.csbsju.edu/marketing-communications/copy-writing-tips-for-the-web http://www.unr.edu/cla/music/procedures/writing_promotional_copy.htm
Just pick up a topic on current affairs, research things on the topic and write a thin book around that topic. It goes to store with nice binding and people buys it.
