Hi there, What are the tips and technqiues to get listed in MSN. and which is the best method. I appreicate all answers. Thanks
Google doesn't update their links on daily bases like MSN. Google updates it once every few months randomly just like PageRank.
MSN seems to get more and better influenced by good anchor links from from domain names that contain the "keyword". If your domain contains the keyword, all the better. In any case, backlinks from any site, as long as it's not bad neighbourhood would help for all search engines
here is an article I wrote not to long ago. It is simple but very effective http://seotweak.com/NewsDetails.php?ID=15
Links are definitely the way to go for MSN. I got my new site listed #1 for a few non-competitive terms within the first couple of days with only a couple of directory & forum links. As long as the anchor text is consistent, you'll get a big boost from adding some links.
Just be carefull with the consistent anchor text, you get away with it for now with MSN (prob not for too long), but other SE's (like Google) require that your anchor text is varied quite a lot. Offcourse they have to be related to your websites content, but varying anchor text is definitely a good idea!
One of my most stupid sites is listed in MSN on 9 position for a very competitive keyword (in google I'm probably not in the million on it..) and it was so simple.. I just joined few automatic link exchange programs and got thousands of links, it doesn't work in google though. MSN is so easy to manipulate, evv ffa links add value to your site.
MSN seems to place a lot of weight on inbound links. Get more amd more links and try to get the keywords in the anchor text. For onpage SEO just place your keywords in the title and in header tags.
From my experience MSN (as with most other search engines) also likes it when you update your site. My page seemed to slip in the rankings until I'd update it and then it would pop back up. Also, don't repeat any keywords in your meta tags, I got burned with that one. That's just from my experience...
Anyone have an idea about whether MSN is shifting over to focus on quality vs. quantity - I've noticed on some of the search terms I'm looking at the link: command will vary wildly for the top ten results (from 20 - 2000). Maybe this is just a difference in anchor text or something?
Huh, no clue then. Get a lot of random sub-domains on some keywords I look at that don't have a lot of backlinks, and those seem to do better than many front pages with a lot more links.
