1) Cut off all communication: that means don't talk to them; delete/erase phone numbers, e-mail addresses, IM addresses, etc.; don't look up profiles or seek them out in any way, shape or fashion. This will keep you from that urge to contact them. 2) Get rid of any gifts, notes, letters, etc. that are sentimental to you: don't give them back to your ex. Give them away to Goodwill, whatever. Do not keep them. 3) Hang out with friends. 4) Don't jump into another relationship. This is unfair to a new partner if you are not over your ex. 5) Do something active: run, exercise, go see a movie, go shopping, etc. 6) Try to think about all the things you did NOT like about your partner. People break up for a reason. 7) Write your thoughts down in a journal or write a letter to your ex about how you feel about everything... DO NOT give it to them. 8) Remember to not be afraid to be alone. It's not the end of the world and you will always find someone else down the road. It is OK to be alone. 9) Do not try and be friends with your ex UNLESS you can get over them. Once you are over them, then you can think about being friends with them. If you are not over them and you continue with contacting them, you will not be able to get over them especially when they are dating someone new. 10) Do not wallow in alcohol. It will only make you feel worse... trust me on this one. 11) It takes time...
Nice tips, but I prefer to go on dates immediately so I could have fun and forget about my previous relationship faster.
People greatly underestimate the benefits of exercise. Getting the heart-rate up and hormones pumping on a regular basis can do wonders for you, both mentally and physically.
some of them work the oposite on others lol, just depends on what kind of person u are inside usually i dont mind wen i break up with an ex, well mabey i do a little lol.. Anyways, that was untill i met my ex and the rest is history.
1) Cut off all communication: that means don't talk to them; delete/erase phone numbers, e-mail addresses, IM addresses, etc.; don't look up profiles or seek them out in any way, shape or fashion. This will keep you from that urge to contact them. This can be hard when the person is a stalker. 2) Get rid of any gifts, notes, letters, etc. that are sentimental to you: don't give them back to your ex. Give them away to Goodwill, whatever. Do not keep them. Good advice. 3) Hang out with friends. Sometimes this ok. Sometimes friends start talking about their relationship problems or be affectionet towards their partner in front of you. 4) Don't jump into another relationship. This is unfair to a new partner if you are not over your ex. I agree, but sometimes it helps. 5) Do something active: run, exercise, go see a movie, go shopping, etc. There's only so much you can do to get your mind off of it before you get bored and start thinking about. 6) Try to think about all the things you did NOT like about your partner. People break up for a reason. This can make someone pretty mad or depressed, but I can say that thinking about it can help to avoid those situations with someone else in the future. 7) Write your thoughts down in a journal or write a letter to your ex about how you feel about everything... DO NOT give it to them. This does help to relieve the pain, but it's temporary. 8) Remember to not be afraid to be alone. It's not the end of the world and you will always find someone else down the road. It is OK to be alone. Sometimes people are alone for a long time if not their whole life. 9) Do not try and be friends with your ex UNLESS you can get over them. Once you are over them, then you can think about being friends with them. If you are not over them and you continue with contacting them, you will not be able to get over them especially when they are dating someone new. I agree with this. 10) Do not wallow in alcohol. It will only make you feel worse... trust me on this one. I agree. 11) It takes time... Sometimes your whole life. Personally I am in a situation like this, and I don't know how to get over someone. But I can say that time is the best medicine for me because the event is fading from my memory and I think about it less.
its hard to resist the alcahol wen it takes all the pain away, its hapend to me before but nowdays i hardly even drink anymore lol
