Tips on Getting Quality Backlinks

Stay away from link farms. There are many web pages that are nothing but a long collection of links. Search engines do not view these pages favorably since some of the links featured are spam and are sometimes not properly optimized. If you have the opportunity of getting some of your links featured on web pages, visit these pages to get an idea of the kind of content featured and to make sure their links are properly optimized.

You can create your own back-links by launching a social media marketing campaign or creating a message board. Use these platforms to share links to your latest updates. This technique will be efficient if your audience knows the content you share is always valuable and interesting. Make sure you include a link to your homepage on your different social media profiles. Use a visitor counter to find out which temporary back-links bring the most traffic to your website so you can create more similar links.

Make some edits to different articles on Wikipedia and other online encyclopedias. You should write on the topics you know best and reference your own articles as sources. This is a good strategy if your articles actually help readers learn more on the topics they are interested in. Check the Wikipedia articles you edited regularly to make sure your links are still there. You should also find quality article directories that accept submissions and send all your articles to these sites.

Find some webmasters or bloggers who need to create back-links too. Offer to feature their content on your website if they will return the favor. You can either feature their links or offer to share an entire article along with several links to some of their pages. Establish partnerships with people who have a similar audience. Avoid working with websites you are in competing against. Do not hesitate to pay other webmasters for some ad space on their pages if the visitors you target are likely to visit these websites.

Organic search engine optimization will help you get more quality links. Focus on writing excellent content based on your own research, your expertise and experiences. You need to contribute to your field and do your best to produce valuable articles regularly. If you are not good with writing, share pictures, videos or launch a Podcast. Share your content as much as possible and your audience will create some quality back-links for you by featuring your links on their own pages, for instance to refer to your articles as sources or to provide their own audience with valuable content. Use a good visitor counter to keep track of which back-links bring the most traffic to your website and do not hesitate to contact the webmasters who share your links to establish partnerships.

Keep in mind that you will have to create new back-links regularly to improve your visibility and get more traffic. Cheers :)

The number of backlinks to your site and where these backlinks come from still matter. They have a lot of weight as to your page rank. If you have a lot of backlinks from sites within your site's niche, then search engines are more likely to increase your page rank due to your site's relevance to the other site's on your niche.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

If you are creating backlinks to your website then make sure that you are using relevant and quality sites, otherwise it would be good if you concentrate on content creation and internal linking as well.
