Could someone give me some tips on blogging.. I know the basics such as a lot of content, keywords, etc.. but I don't have much subjects to talk about. I need the blog to point to my main site. I have a promotional website in my comment talking and explaining about taking surveys for money and getting paid to read emails and all that good stuff.. but I can't seem to blog good enough..

    Thanks!

Well, you can always write reviews of them survey sites... that will fill out a blog, and then some. Also tips, but don't write them all in one big post, rather break it down to the basics and go in details about each tip/technique/strategy in a post of its own. You can also write about all the interesting things that happen in the survey community. I bet there's a million things to write about.

So write a paragraph talking about what I think about specific surveys site and few more posts after that, adding more details? Tell me if I'm understanding you right.

What if I only have 5 sites in total?
Should I talk about anything off topic? (I'm assuming no)

I strongly suggest that you make related topics on your promotional blog, then include links to your main site. If you have multiple sites, then making a blog network will help a lot. Or you can include a blog in your main site to avoid too many sites to write in.

However, the key here is how you promote them since it will be useless if you will not be getting your targeted traffic.

    Hope that helps.

Hello, thanks for the answer. Will it help promoting my URL link in the blog as well as pointing to my site at the bottom of the post? Also, with google's blogs (blogspot) I have about 5 posts, how do I find out if its indexed on google?

I have a wordpress installed in my site, should I do the same to all blogs (same content or different/new posts?)

No, that's not what I meant. I meant that you do reviews, or posts on some aspects of your trade, and be thorough. Go into detail, not just skim the surface. That way it's possible to write a normal length post about some tiny tip, for example.

About the off topic writing, Some people manage to create a better sense of interest and credibility by inserting bits and pieces of their real life into their blog. I'm no promotional expert though, so I can't say whether that's a good idea for you.

It is better if you put the link at the upper part of the post. With regards to the link being indexed by Google, you just need to place the link on the Google search. However, I don't suggest checking them every now and then since it will consume you a lot of time. Just focus on link building, and getting targeted traffic.

Again, having a blog on your main site is a good option. But if you feel creating multiple blogs, then it's up to you. This can help build links to your main site anyway, but make sure to choose the most appropriate keywords.
