I am new to affiliate marketing. Any tips on how to begin my affiliate program? Also, which one do you think is better - CJ or linkshare. What all do I need to know before I start. Any references to articles/news online?
Hi. You should try an affiliate program which guides you step by step into affiliate marketing. Free guides, affilite forum, training blog, website templates, product reviews, plus a $40 join bonus to help you get started. Luckily there is such an affiliate program. For more info, follow the 2nd link in my signature below. See you inside!
You can check out my blog http://makemoney-affiliatemarketing.blogspot.com/ It's new but I think I've got some good posts (of course LOL) that should give you some things to think about As for which affiliate to pick, it depends upon your niche. What are you promoting? Some affiliates are stronger in some areas than others. For instance, as mentioned above, MoreNiche has excellent tools to help a newbie learn about affiliate mkting. Maybe its products will fit your niche, maybe not. You've got to sign up at a bunch of affiliate sites and look at what companies they offer. Which affiliate site(s) can you make the most use out of? And again, it comes down to what you want to promote.
You can try moreniche affiliate program, They will provide you with all information to get your first sale.
So many self promotions. Anyway, CJ is definitely better than LinkShare since they have a whole lot more advertisers.
Here's an e-book full of tips. Don't worry, it's legit. I wrote it myself. Hope this helps. Regards, George
this is on the basis you are not using PPC and driving traffic direct to a merchant. so... decide on whether you are going to create a blog or website or maybe even both! choose your niche & check there is demand for your niche and check out the competition think of merchants that fit your niche check out affiliate networks; linkshare, CJ, Tradedoubler, Affili.net, Buy.at, Affiliate Window, Webgains, Paid On Results, Share a Sale, Zanox, OMG etc and see who has merchants that you want to work with or are similar join a few networks and get those merchants links start integrating the links/datafeeds etc into your site. then start promoting your site (another topic entirely!)
A question on this theme; Would it be a good idea to have various programs from different affiliate networks on the same website, or is it best to keep to one network per site? Also if you have several sites, can u use the same affiliate banner code for each site, or do u have to sign up for several accounts with the affiliate networks for each domain?
CJ is far "better" than LS... but CJ is currently undergoing a lawsuit for letting 'hijackers' into their network, so now I don't know!
Thanks for the link to your blog. It did had few good posts on affiliate marketing. I am promoting "online adult & continuing education" . What network should I go for? What about CJ and linkshare?
