So I already started a thread asking about how marketing has changed you as a person and I got some pretty inspiring responses. I would like to chip in and give you guys 5 tips that I have learned on the way to becoming a successful online businessman.

1. Keep Faith in Yourself


A lot of people have constantly repeated this point but let’s have a look at what this really means. Having faith in oneself is believing that you have the capability to achieve. As an entrepreneur, you have to believe that you can reach the goals you have set for yourself because that’s the only way you can grow. Unless you make that decision yourself to move forward believing you can, you won’t.


2. Humility


While it is still good to believe in oneself, you should also realize that you don’t know everything. Business is a process of trial-and-error and you have to constantly test a certain strategy before you find the right fit. However you will not know this beforehand so this process is inevitable. You won’t always have the answers.


3. Work with People you Like


Too many times, I have seen people get into a business relationship with other people purely because of their skill. It helps if you actually like the person. Get to know them and you will gain information about your business from a different point of view. It’s always a good idea to find someone you feel comfortable with to exchange ideas.


4. Network Network Network


Part of being a business person involves collaborating with other people to work on bigger projects. The more people you network with, the more deals you can possibly make which can make you a lot more money in the long run


5. Don’t give up….ever!


I wanted to leave off on this point just to share an inspiring story with you guys. There was a woman that had just been through a rough marriage and got divorced. She was also on government aid but it barely was enough for her to feed her own child. Writing was a skill that she prevailed in so she made a book. However, because of her financial situation at the time she couldn’t even afford the cost of photocopying the book. So when it came time to send the book to publishers she had to manually type out the different versions and that of course took quite a while. It was of course rejected countless time until the daughter of the CEO of Bloomsbury liked the book and got it published. That author is J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter Series.

yeah i've been strugglin with having faith in myself. its so hard to believe when the circumstances are not good and people give you bad energy and yell at me constantly

 

Indeed! We have to work with the people we like in order for us to be successful. Surround yourself with people who has the goal as you.

Working with people you like is definitely one that has a big impact on me. I did some research in the field of sociology and it turns out you are shaped by the people you constantly surround yourself with. So your environment plays a big role in who you are. Take advantage of that fact and shape yourself to be successful by keeping successful people close by and learn from them.

 

Your tips are so much right. Thanks for it. Communications, humanity, confident, savings. These are most important things. Always I try to fellow these activities but I have a problem that's I can't believe anybody. How can I overcome from these these situation? Please let me know.

Guys, I'm a online marketing specialist. In last month someone hacked my skrill account and got $566 after then I believed a client he also didn't agreed to pay me but I have done about $600 budgeted job. So in last month I lost total $1166. From then I can't believe nobody. I think all are ready to cheating with me. Now I'm in tension. How can I overcome from it?

 

This is one of the reasons I suggest working with someone you like. Not only is it important that you appreciate the person and their skills but also you must be able to trust them. I think you can get over this fear you have by trying again. I know you're afraid but it's best to learn from mistakes and move on. Next time do a reasonable amount of research on the person you're dealing with to make sure they are trustworthy. Also, NEVER do the job before they pay you. You need to accept the payment first to get rid of people that will just waste your time.

 

I fully agree with you. Cooperation was a big problem for me from the very beginning. Almost all tasks I delegated I eventually remade. So I didn't trust anybody and it turned out I had loads of tasks, which could be made by my employees.
But it turned out that the problem was not in fact that I can't trust anyone, but I can't find the right people. So you have to hire and cooperate with professionals, with those people you can trust almost everything and be confident in results you'll gain.
