I've done a search but have found nothing of relevance - can someone please list some tips for webmasters who are running video sites...either similar to Youtube, or one-way video sites (only the admin can upload videos), or even niche video sites (videos of independent projects)? I'm starting to think that this is a hopeless venture. It really doesn't help that it seems to take an eternity to get listed on dir.yahoo and DMOZ, but I still haven't been assigned a Google PR and the site's been up for 4 months. I'm getting 140 visitors a day, there are about 600 videos so far, and if I'm lucky I'll make 20 cents a day. There must be a strategy to it? I've exhausted the SEO checklists out there, and the site is 100% optimized. [sorry, I don't want to post the link, as I don't like doing that on message boards]... Thanks for any tips you might have!
Is the site optimised for AdSense, or just SEO? Are you getting relevant ads appearing? Have you been building your backlinks to your wesbite, to improve your SERPs? Cryo.
It all depends, With my experience, google on video websites are bad. People click them - and nothing happens - so you get smart priced fast! Also, check out googles TOS for adsense publishers. You are not allowed to show their ads on pages with video, music, etc. (Yes I know there's tons out there, but that's their choice, just be a smart one )
