Hi folks, I'm about to approach the registrant of a .de domain to see whether they're interested in selling. Does anyone have advice as to how and where I should transfer this? My understanding is that I need a German contact - Godaddy offers a service to cover this. Would you suggest a different registrar over them? Also, I'd like whois protection... is this even possible with German domains? If you've ever registered or transferred a .de domain please chime in with your experiences. Thanks guys. For the record I'm not German, I speak a tiny but but I'm pretty sure the registrant is also English.
for this one..I guess you should stick with godaddy for this one..don't know about any other registrar who offers a similar service..
It turns out .de domains can't be transferred to godaddy: So with this knowledge can anyone suggest a registrar for .DE transfers, preferably with a German administrative contact service (as per .de requirements) and Whois protection?
Cheers adisolutions. Just got those links and am checking them out now. I've also just found domaindiscount24.net which seems to be reasonably priced, and has the German contact service (seems "key-systems" handles it for all registrars). Am about to shoot off an email asking whether they do transfers and offer whois protection.
Just for anyone who comes across this thread through search or Google... It turns out domaindiscount24 does not offer Whois protection for their .de domains.
