I have a lot of repeated visitors to a website of mine, but the nature of the site means targeted advertising of whatever will mean lots and lots and lots of work to set up and then maintain. Are there any techniques, tips or affiliate schemes that work well with non-targeted audiences or am I onto a loser with that one? thanks
I already use adsense. Google warned me to remove the ads from pages that didn't have much content on so I immediately stripped it from lots of pages and now the income has decreased dramatically, not that it was much in the first place! I can think of lots of things I can do to introduce content loaded pages for adsense purposes but given that I myself totally ignore adsense adverts (and Im sure i am not the only one who does this) Im convinced there is an alternative non-content related strategy that I could use. A while ago I set up commission junction ads/banners and made absolutely nothing but spent ages maintaining a selection of banners. I've learnt a lot more about affiliates since my dabble with CJ and Im sure I can come up with something to catch the eye of my non-content targeted visitors. Perhaps I need to search harder on the internet for sites who are doing something similar to what I want to do . Thats always a good place to start!
thanks everyone. I'll certainly look at Bidvertiser. Their site is not viewable with PeerGuardian running, I always feel uneasy about that, its the same with tradedoubler. I think I just need to try different things out and learn from experience. Ive got lot of ideas now after reading round these fantastic forums. They are very addictive! Trouble is I keep reading about it all and end up doing no work!
