Tips For Getting Best Results From PR.com?

Tomorrow I go to the printer to pick up the copies of my science fiction magazine. I'd like to put out a press release about the first issue launch through PR.com.

Does anyone have tips for getting the most out of a release through PR.com or any little tips that help improve the quality and noticeability of a release?

I'm more-or-less familiar with writing a PR, but I haven't actually written any for my own use, so I'm a little anxious about the whole process...

Have you seen much in the way of results from issuing a PR? Why or why not?

I'd like to know the same. Maybe even a good primer on writing a PR to make sure it looks polished.

You may search for a tips or tutorial on how to write a press release. I think press release is not for personal purpose but it is the way of promoting or knowing the public what the site to offer to business.

    Hello,

One of the best pieces of advice I have ever received related to Press Releases is from the Director of Communications of a company I used to work with...

"Keep your Press Release related to how your product/service/Web site/etc. helps serve a customers need."

Before this, I had submitted Press Releases that said something to the effect of, "XYZ.com Web site has just launched, stop on by". After getting this advice, my Press Releases were more along the lines of, "XYZ.com Web site has just launched and we have added great tools to.... that will save you time as you...".

My later Press Releases seemed to get a lot more "play".

I wish I could speak to the actual process of submitting a Press Release to PR.com, but I normally use my PR Manager to handle this. One of the few advantages of working at a large company.

Search a few threads here on distribution. We've gone over it time and time again with various distribution sites. You can find samples and articles on press release writing at one of my sites (temporary home for now is at http://blog.bizammo.com in the Public Relations section).

Find something to make your story different. Remember that the folks looking over your release are looking for job security! How can you help them break a unique, interesting story?
