I have a social media/seo service business but i need to know what should my newsletter pertain for my clients, how often should i message them? should i also them promote affiliate products to them also? my target audience is local businesses
We here at Moodyo have been trying many different things with our newsletters. One thing I have seen from all of them, especially Justfab are lots of special deals, especially for first time customers, like free shipping, 2 X 1on first purchase, etc. But of course, this depends on what it is your site does. We have tried segmenting by gender and by interests and also with catchy subject titles, and that has been working pretty well. This week we are going to test with fashion and technology
Go for monthly emails that contain a deal or coupon of some sort. If a merchant doesn't have a deal for me then I generally don't want to hear from them. Since you're in socal media / SEO, it should be pretty easy to have a short how-to or tip as part of the message. Just make sure it's worth reading.
I think every week is ok. However it depend on your business model and behavior of your customer. Coupon&Deal business can send email to customer everyday that I think customer is ok to receive it but if travel business do like this I think it annoy customer because customer don't want to have a trip everyday.
1-3 times per month. You should also send important and interesting content in it. Try to post some extra offer there or discount for new orders.
