Just wanted to share some simple tips on how to get started earning a little with adsense and on how to start building traffic I will focus on domain keywords in this tip. First thing to do is to get a good domain name including the keywords important for your site. Let’s say you want to make a site about funny jokes. Choose a domain name including those keywords, like funnyjokes.info or funnyweddingjokes.info if you want to be more specific. Good thing is to check your keywords both in Google and with some keyword tools. Getting funnyhousejokes will probably not drive much traffic. Now build your site. Make sure the title on main page has same keywords and also use the keywords in your unique content on the page. Make a good description, might also include the keywords. To key here is to associate your page content to the keywords in your domain. It's also quite important that your content is unique to rank higher in Google. Now submit your site to stumbleupon or similar service to get your site indexed fast in Google. (DONT PUT ADDS ON YOUR SITE YET, not 100% sure bout this one but things seems to go faster for me this way) Wait a week or so until Google has indexed some/or most of your site, depending on how big it is. Submit to a few more site, social bookmarking / directories / buy links on relevant sites. But don’t overdo it. Keep doing this every week. Make sure you use the same keywords you selected for the domain when adding description / link. This will get your rank up faster. Add more content to your site. Avoid having to many outgoing links on your main page. After a few weeks / month your site should be indexed all the way and its time for start earning that adsense money ;-) At this point you should already start to see SE traffic coming to your site. And it should be shown in top 3 pages when searching for your keywords. Add an ad unit somewhere near the top if you have links there or near your sidebar if you use that. Make sure the ad unit uses the same colors as your site, same link, text, background color to blend it in. Also add a couple of more text / image links where they fit well. Continue to build back links and add more content to your site. Your SE rank should get better and better and you should see more and more traffic coming in. If everything went right and you chose some good keywords and have some decent content you should already be generating a few $ each day. Please note that some keywords pay better than others, while some might show adds worth 1$ others might only show adds worth 0.01$ per click. .. And that’s how I got some of my sites in top 5 for the keywords and brings in quite a lot of good money generating traffic ;-) I've even used this trick with simple wordpress sites that I built within a few hours. Also please note this is just one way you could do it. I've used this way for a couple of my sites and it works for me to get started.
great tips you put up there, thanks. here is little edit from me: try to go for .com .net or .org, not sure but I have heared .info's are not treated well thanks to spammers using them a lot.
Actually I thought so to. But I got some info domains in top5 and one .cc in top2 ;-) So I'm not that sure it really matters. Anyway best thing is of course to go for .com / net / org domains first.
