just thought i'd let you guys know:

when i use 468x15 4 link ads, a lot of times less than 4 links are actually served.

on the other hand, when i use 728x15 4 link ads, it's very rare that any of the links are missing: all 4 are served most of the time.

    Hi,

I know this may sound silly. But is it the only adsense box on the page each time. Or are you testing both on the same page at the same time?

    Cheers

Sorry, I wasn't clear there. Do you have both ads on the same page at the same time? It might not be that, but that's caught me out before.

    Cheers

    Hi guys,

He is talking about a new ad link type that looks like this -

EDIT - I tried to post the screen shot but it was too wide and can't be reduced in a legible fashion. So here is a link with an image of the new Horizontal Ad Links -

    http://www.adsenseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=63

    These are pretty cool!

    :)

It's too bad that Google has such an ugly "Ads by Google" slug at the front. If that blue background was not there I would use these; but with it they disrupt the page too much.

    you can customize ad links as well, just like regular units. to get rid of the background, for example, use google_color_border = "ffffff";

heres something I noticed with adlinks, if your site is made to be usable by an 800x600 viewer if you align the adlinks to the left then the Ads by Google part fades from the eye and the links are centered, check out my page http://www.safetycorridor.com for the way i implemented the adlinks. I think its pretty good.

    I'll try this Stin :)

By the way, I just changed my little adlinks box to the new horizontal format and the ctr increased x3 and I still have to do some more tweaking. Seems great so far.

i have put them on my site as ALL BLACK with a white background and no border. I placed them under my logo. I reckon they look really good. This the first new ad block that I am actually excited about for some time! :)

Can I put my feet up and retire now? ;)

I can't get the new ads to show as an option when creating ad code - they're their as an example.
I had to look at Jumble's site to see what the code looked like.
    rather odd ad_format name.

Going mad - didn't realise they were link ads.

Yeah thats pretty good jumble. Sadly the only way you have have the google link the same color as your other links is all white or all black, right?

Yes that is right Stin. For me black was the obvious choice. My adsense forum has not been getting terrific click rates on that ad link but i have another website that it is performing quite well on. The audience is of course quite different. One is for geeks (*oops i mean super users*) and the other is for the average jo. Oh well, hopefully I will eventually win by getting lots of geek traffic and 0.1% CPC :) lol
