I was reading different threads asking for low price domain names. Registerfly is running each Friday a special sale for registerd users with INFO domains at 0.60 cents. However looking for cheap dot coms I found this registrar offering INFO domains at 0.25 cents http://www.elb.com/domain.php?action=domain_pricing Code (markup): How real this offer could be? I'm pretty sure it's valid, because the interface is a typicall reseller layour managed by directi.com My experience with other directI resellers has been that they need a minimum of $5 USD to process your order, but respecting their pricing. This is the tip, your turn for input
I just tried ordering 10 domains from them. They took the money out of my Paypal account and then sent me emails saying all my registrations failed and kept the money. When I go to their site and log in to my account my money is there, but whenever I click "refund" for it, I get an error page.
First off, we need to tell everyone here to avoid this site. It may be a technical issue, or it may be a scam. Either way, they've got my money and I have nothing, and there appears to be no way that I can resolve this issue in a timely fashion. I paid with Paypal myself, so I am going to try and email the elb.com staff. If that doesn't work I am going to call them (phone numbers are on the websites) and then as a last resort I will file a complaint with Paypal.
Noted, yeah I will do the same. BTW I also payed with paypal, glad I didn't give them my cc details ..
Oh my, what a terrible mess :O Then I guess the next step should be report them to DirectI since this is a company that supposedly rely on their resellers for quality service. This is the contact form, phone and chat facility that they provide: http://www.resellerclub.com/contact Code (markup): Include the name and URL of the fraudulent reseller. I addition submit your refund request to PayPal, though it may take some time but I got a refund that way from a bad server provider charging me for nothing.
i am having the same problem, i just registered 2 domains, only if this thread was here i might have holden back on the purchase
Even after reading about the problems described above, I felt I could afford 0.25 to cause some trouble. As expected, no domain or anything. Let's all bomb them together!
I think everyone should take the extremely low price as a hint not to use their business. Searching the company name on forums such as this help to determine if they are a scam or not. If none of you have received your domains I can guarantee that this is a scamming site.
I have escalulated this to a claim with Paypal. The company did not respond to any of my inquiries, nor through the Paypal dispute process. Are ELB.com scammers? If so, I'm going to SEO the hell out of this thread. With all the scams Registerfly is involved in, I wouldn't go anywhere near them at all! In regards to elb.com, it just shows from the above people's experience that you should stick with reputable companies, even if it costs you a few cents extra for the domains. Godaddy has .info for $0.99, I believe Dotster has them for $0.77. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. By the way, I just checked out elb.com prices for .info & they are $1.25, not $0.25
